Yesterday was my half-birthday. We went to see Shakespeare in the
Park. The only reason we figured this out was because I said that
Shakespeare in the Park and Suzanne and night driving (and subsequently getting lost – which was not our fault) was so great that it must be my birthday. And she (Suzanne, that is) said “When is your birthday?” I told her.

“It’s your half birthday!” she said.

“Happy half-birthday, Emily!”

“Wait…it really is?”

The Taming of the Shrew was really quite enjoyable. It was followed
by Dohnavur’s first Originals poetry reading (we didn’t get lost on the
way back). Ayo was a smash…or maybe Josh was a smash, since he
read them. Anyhow, it was all lovely.

The End

oh, and (if you haven’t picked up on it yet) I have a new housemate. She’s very nice.

The half-birthday followed in the tradition of many birthdays before it – namely, I sobbed pitifully.

  1. I was at your house today but I didn’t get to see you. I’m sorry that I missed the poetry night too. I’m sorry that you ended your half-birthday by crying. But I ‘m not sorry that you saw The Taming of the Shrew, it’s one of my favorite Shakespeare plays!
